Your Agile Antidote to Zoom fatigue!

Remember June of 2020?

I know… In pandemic time June feels like a century ago.

I’ll help you out a bit…

We were angry that all our favorite agile events had been canceled.

We were longing for a way to connect with our agile peers and mentors.

It had only been a couple months, and we were already going stir-crazy from COVID lockdown.

It was scary, overwhelming, and exhausting.

Yeah, *THAT* June.

Well back then, our small team wanted things to feel a bit more “normal”, so we organized the Agile Virtual Summit, which ended up being the world’s largest agile event ever…

Over 14,500 people from around the world registered.

Our community gathered together virtually for a full week of amazing speakers and connection, with over 25+ hours of content.

It was strangely exhilarating - connecting in this new way with each other.

And for a while, we were energized again.

But now?

Now we’re all “Zoomed out”.

Meeting after meeting on Zoom.

Conference after conference down the tubes of the internet.

And every day seems like the one before it.

Exhausting, right?

I bet that the idea of joining another virtual event feels too much like Groundhog Day to you to be intriguing.

It’s not just you. We’re all tired.

And to make it worse, we’re A YEAR into this pandemic, and none of us know when it’ll be over, or when we’ll be back to meeting in person.

But… just like our team did back in June, we’ve got a plan…

And we want YOU to be a part of it!

If you’re ready to feel refreshed, energized, and connected to your agile community again, this event is for you!

Join us, and you'll:

  • Discover the latest actionable tips, tricks, and tools that you can use with your team right away

  • Make new connections with like-minded agilists from around the world

  • Earn continuing education credits (PDUs and SEUs) so your certifications don’t lapse

If you want to feel refreshed and reconnected to your agile community, you're in the right place!

Best of all?

It's 100% FREE!

That’s right, we’re not charging for the LIVE event, so it’s a no-brainer… grab your ticket now!

Jesus Mendez // Agile Coach

"It was extremely well organized, the talks were amazing and brought great value to my practice. A week of fully inspiring content"

Bianka Rowińska // Scrum Master

“5 days of highest quality lectures and everything for free? It can't be missed. I would never be able to afford a conference of that scale in the US and AVS gave me that opportunity.”

Wendell Bickford // Scrum Master

“I loved being able to listen and ask questions to the leaders of Agile. To learn from someone the best.”

Vesna Vuksan // Manager

"It is an amazing experience to "sit" in the same room with famous agilists + the audience was great. I also loved how you made sure people had channels to communicate, and it was facilitated so well."

Kathryn O'Neill Karnes // PM

"The presenters and their topics were great. I got it for free, and I couldn't believe the quality of the presenters. I will probably buy the books that half of them have written."

recognize and articulate your value

When done well, Agile Coaching is impossible to see from a distance and can even be invisible to those who you work with up close

And that's true for ANY 21st century leadership role.

How do you react when you hear this at performance review time:

“Yes, I know the team is doing well, better than we could have imagined, and that’s great. But, what did YOU do? What was your specific contribution to their success?”

If you’re like many Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches, you’re hard-pressed to answer this challenge.

Who's just the person to help YOU find the answer to this age-old question?

None other than Lyssa Adkins.

She's the go-to source for all things Agile Coaching related. Heck, you have her book on your shelf, don't you?

In her keynote address, Lyssa will take us on a deep dive into her best-selling book Coaching Agile Teams and give you the tools you need to be able to confidently recognize and articulate your value.

Agile Scaling: 3 factors you need for success

Have you ever thought to yourself ...

  • How can we make Agile Scaling less of a goal itself and more of a method to get to our organizational goals?
  • We know we need to scale but where do we go from here?

If you have, come to this session to get the answers you've been searching for!

This talk will focus on three factors that emerged as common themes throughout Nicole's experience working on government Agile Scaling projects that ultimately impacted the trajectory of each agency's Scaling journey:

  • Communicate vision consistently
  • Focus on your people genuinely
  • Create your own path intentionally

Regardless of the agency acronym or the frameworks used, these concepts shaped their Scaling outcomes.

So, whether you are working in the government, commercial or the non-profit space, these concepts can help you take your organization to the peak of its Agile Scaling journey.

Dave Prior

Wednesday March 31st, 2021 @ 9:20AM - 10:05AM PT (12:20PM - 1:05PM ET)

Agile Planning with the Product Goal

The November 2020 Scrum Guide introduced the Product Goal as a commitment made in the product backlog which serves as a target for the Scrum Team to plan against.

But... If you are used to the five-layered onion of Agile Planning, it can be hard to understand how the Product Goal fits in.

How does the Product goal relate to the Product Vision? To the Product Roadmap? To Release Planning or Sprint Planning?

The addition of the Product Goal can QUICKLY make things that were once clear, murky.

In this session, Dave Prior will help create clarity around how to work with the Product Goal by drawing on the techniques and examples he has been using to help teams and students make sense of it all. He'll show you how work flows from from the Sprint Goal, through Sprint Planning, and down to Sprint tasks.

You'll leave this session with useful tools for gaining clarity on our the direction of your product, by focusing on the Product Goal.

How Healthy Conflict Goes Wrong

Do teams really need conflict? Yes, they absolutely do. Conflict is a sign that something is trying to happen. The best ideas and outcomes are from diverse experiences and contributions, thus this means conflict.

Unfortunately, many people try to avoid conflict, which only leads to more conflict and drama. Now drama, that is what we should be eliminating! This session examines the differences between conflict and drama, why conflict is essential, and common reasons why conflict goes wrong by becoming drama.

The Top 5 Backlog Refinement Mistakes Almost Everyone Makes

Backlog refinement is critical for any agile team—if your backlog isn’t in good shape, everything downstream falls apart. But there’s a common set of mistakes almost everyone makes when it comes to backlog refinement, mistakes that make it overwhelming for Product Owners, frustrating for teams, and ultimately ineffective for everyone involved. In this session, we’ll look at those top 5 backlog refinement mistakes and how to fix each one.

Generative Leadership: Enabling Happy Contributing People

It is estimated that disengaged people cost organizations in the US over $550 Billion each year.

Much of this loss is due to organizations allowing leaderless leaders to steal the innovative energy of people. Leaderless Leaders fail to create an environment for people to deliver value for customers.

Generative leaders give birth to organizations and human beings to demonstrate the ability to achieve amazing outcomes.

Imagine what generative leadership could do to help enable happy contributing people to reduce the $550B loss. Let’s share our experiences and stories about generative and leaderless leaders.
