Cannonball Run?

Times are strange for Agile Coaches (or those who aspire to transition to coaching).
 
While we used to thrive off of in-person interactions, we're now mostly cut off from direct contact with our teams.
 
While before we'd "walk the floor" to get a better sense of what was happening with our team and organization...
 
Now we struggle to connect with them via zoom.
 
2 years of having to "adjust", while missing some of our most basic coaching tools.

But I have a question for you...

Will this be your Cannonball Run?

The Cannonball Run is an unsanctioned speed record for driving across the United States, typically accepted to run from New York City to Los Angeles, covering a distance of about 2,906 miles.
 
In 1915 Erwin Baker made it across the country in  271 hours and 15 minutes, averaging 50mph.
 
60 years later, Erwin's record looked downright boring when it was broken. The new record?
 
40 hours 51 minutes in 1971.
 
While the record was impressive, it was recently smashed.
 
In  2020, 3 intrepid men set the new cannonball record of 25 hours and 39 minutes.
 
How did they do it (and WHAT does this have to do with Agile Coaching you ask)?!
 
When comparing 2020 to any other time in history, two things are unquestionably true:
 
  1. The State-Of-The-Art in both unsanctioned car racing and Agile Coaching has never been more advanced

  2. The disruption of the pandemic gives the BRAVE a huge advantage
The record was broken, in large part, due to there being fewer drivers on the road during pandemic lockdown.
 
The state-of-the-art aligned with opportunity.
 
While I don't endorse putting people's lives at risk driving over 175 miles per hour, you can use this same opportunity to improve your coaching practice.
 
As you've no doubt discovered over the last 2 years, there's an amazing opportunity during these trying times.
